Sir Mack Rice (Bonnie Rice) is one of the more prominent soul songwriters having written songs performed by groups such as The Staples Singers, Ike and Tina Turner, Albert King, Etta James, Wilson Pickett and many others. Sir Rice started working out of detroit in the 50’s with groups such as the Falcons. Rice really came into his niche when he started writing for the Stax label.
